Christmas Cookies 2018

First time finally trying royal icing using this youtube video.

It was not as hard as it looked.  I think they turned out pretty good.

I used this cookie recipe instead of the one in the video.

Cream 1 cup softened butter with
1 cup sugar
Add 1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp almond extract
1 egg
1 T milk (more if needed)

Add 3 cups flour mixed with
1 1/2 tsp baking powder and
1/4 tsp salt

wrap and chill for one hour
roll out between two sheets of parchment paper so as not to add additional flour and cut out cookies to desired thickness.  I did about 1/8-1/4 inch
Bake at 350 degrees for about 12 minutes

Mini Wooden Barn Quilts for indoors

These are about 10" x 10" crate wood.  I drew

on the quilt motif and painted it by using frog tape.

Gnomes

These gnomes were made with emptied thread spools and wool

from old sweaters that were felted.  The wooden heads and noses were painted and it all was glued together with a glue gun.
