The Walmart Pants

I've been trying to clear out old fabric and came across this 'Hello Kitty' flannel from years ago.  There was only one yard.

Just enough to make size 4T lounge pants.  I think they turned out pretty cute!!!

Ugly Monkey PJ's

I found this wonderful kids PJ pattern at http://www.peekaboopatternshop.com/product/alex-anna-winter-pjs

The fabric was bought on line and listed as "blue" but was actually a dusty blue/green, and personally,  I thought was horrid.  But it's just pajama's right.  Anyway, they turned out well and fit well so, other than the ugly color they are perfect.  I would make them again with better fabric.

Classic Mittens Updated

I recently found my old 'Classic Mitten' knitting pattern that was given to me over 30 years ago by my grandmother.  I've made it many times when my children were little.

It is a common pattern and can be found here:

I never liked the way the pattern increases for the thumb gusset so I think I found a better way.
The update I did to my pattern is this, on the thumb gusset instead of "increase in the first stitch", I changed it to M1R, then after "knit 1, increase stitch in the next stitch", I changed it to M1L.  This makes the increases look nicer.

Here is a link to a Youtube video that will instruct you how to M1R and M1L if you need it.

I also had problems when I reattached the yarn for the thumb.  I would have a small hole.  I found another Youtube video that finally, after all these years showed me the correct way.

I made two small pair of mittens and never had any trouble after making the above changes.

Child's Apron Pattern

I found this really cute kids apron called Montessori Child's Apron Pattern by Meg McElwee.
                 http://sewliberated.typepad.com/Montessori%20Childs%20Apron.pdf

I just added some pockets on the front and added several velcro strips on the single strap that wraps around so that fits several sizes.

Strawberry apron!!!
